We hold as little as the service can run on, and we delete it on a schedule that is written down here and enforced by the software, not by somebody remembering.
Looking and picking: we don't know who you are
You do not sign in to look at a post or to pick one. When you tap, your device is given an anonymous identity — a random code with no name, number, or email behind it — so that it can pick once per post. That is the whole of what we hold about a viewer, and it is deleted with the post.
Creating a post: what we hold
- Your mobile number. It is your login: we text you a code, you type it in. It is held by Google's sign-in service, not copied into our own records, never shown to anybody, and never texted for anything except your own login codes.
- A name you typed. Shown beside your content only if you switched that on for a post.
- Your two pieces of content, public for the life of the post.
- Your confirmation that the content is yours — the time you ticked the box and which version of the terms it was.
- Like counts. If you chose to hide them, they are held where no page can read them — not yours, not ours. Only the result is ever shown.
How long we keep things
Nothing here is kept because a law says to. Personal information should not be held longer than it is needed, so these are the shortest periods that still leave the service working.
- A post — the pictures, the likes, the anonymous identities that picked, the result: deleted automatically one day after it ends. The end time is the start time plus the duration we set, shown on the page. There is no archive.
- Your name and your login: until you ask us to delete your account.
- Your confirmation that content was yours: kept with your account, because it is the record that you took responsibility for what you posted.
- Reports: two years.
Advertisements
The ad box on a post page shows an ad chosen by the creator, or one of ours. We count how many times an ad was shown and tapped. We do not track who saw it.
If you report a post
A report holds what you told us and, if you left one, a way to reach you. It is kept for two years so a repeat problem can be seen as one.
Who else is involved
Google (Firebase) runs the sign-in, the database, and the file storage, in the United States. Cloudflare stores and plays the short videos creators upload. When a post holds a YouTube link, the video plays in YouTube's own player, loaded from youtube-nocookie.com; YouTube (Google) then sees that you watched it and applies its own privacy policy, and it sets no cookie on this site until you press play. Nobody else receives anything, and we run no analytics or advertising trackers.
Your choices
Write to mahaexpocorp@gmail.com and ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Deletion removes your account, your name, and every post you created. You can also delete any single post yourself from your posts page.
If you are in California, the rights above are the ones the CCPA gives you, and we will not treat you differently for using them. We do not sell personal information.
Children
LikeShareNow is for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect anything about anybody under 13, and if we learn that we have, we delete it.
If something goes wrong
If we learn of a breach that affects you, we tell you, and we tell you what we know.
Changes
If we change this page we change the date at the top.
